Yonkers police and firefighters face off in boxing tournament for charity

Yonkers police officers and firefighters stepped into the ring to face off in a boxing match on Friday night.
Hundreds of people came to watch the matches, cheering for the department they wanted to win.
The Toughman Event has short matches of amateur boxing between Yonkers police and firefighters.
This is the 12th Toughman Event in 24 years.
These events have raised over $800,000 for many charities over the years.
The proceeds from this year's event will go to the Ronald McDonald House, the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation and Army Ranger Lead The Way Foundation.
Firefighters and police officers participating told News 12 this is one of their favorite nights of the year.
“It made us all come together as brothers for good cause," says Sean Berry, with the Yonkers Police Department. "Hopefully, we'll bring home a victory."
Berry says he's had over one year of training for this match.
Ed Rosner, with the Yonkers Fire Department, is a coach this year. He's participated in the matches in the past.
“We're looking forward to a good night, good fights. We have some great matches tonight. We're hoping just to raise a lot of money," says Ed Rosner with the Yonkers Fire Department.
