A Yonkers police officer is now on restricted duty, allegedly for using force during an arrest.
Police say they went after a suspected car thief, leading to a dangerous chase on March 14.
Authorities state that the pursuit ended when the suspect crashed into several police cars along Warburton and Glenwood avenues in Yonkers.
Both the officers and the suspect were treated for nonlife-threatening injuries at hospitals.
An internal investigation into the arrest found that one officer's actions were inconsistent with training, procedures, or department values.
In a statement, Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano says he's shocked and disappointed by the officer's actions.
Currently, the Westchester County District Attorney is investigating, and the department says it's fully cooperating.
