A Yonkers police sergeant who was killed in a multicar crash on Thursday is being remembered for saving the life of a 3-year-old boy.
Police Commissioner Christopher Sapienza noted during a news conference Friday that as the head of the prestigious traffic unit, Sgt. Frank Gualdino was involved in funeral processions.
It was during one funeral detail - just two months ago - when he saved the life of a boy.
"During one of these funeral details, a 3-year-old boy became unconscious, and he broke off from the funeral detail, and rushed this kid to the hospital and saved his life. That's the kind of guy Frank was," says Sapienza.
