A person was shot in both legs on the South Side of Yonkers Tuesday afternoon – the third shooting in that part of the city in past 24 hours.
The incident occurred outside Palisade Towers at 1-8 Schroeder St. The victim, who appears to have been targeted, was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, police said. No arrests have been made.
It follows two other shootings in broad daylight on Monday.
The initial incident took place around 2 p.m. when a man was shot in the leg at his residence on West Delano Avenue. The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries.
Investigators have indicated that they do not believe the shooting was a random attack.
Approximately an hour later, police were dispatched to the intersection of Riverdale Avenue and Morris Street in response to reports of multiple gunshots fired
Police told News 12 that they recovered one shell casing. There were no injuries or property damage. Police say it appears to be a targeted shooting but what led up to it is still being investigated.
Police say it does not appear that these shootings are connected and there is no threat to the community at large.
