Yonkers Public Schools announced a new vaccine mandate for some student-athletes.
Anyone 16 or older playing a fall sport must have at least one shot of the Pfizer vaccine by Sept. 27.
The school district says all student-athletes and coaches will get tested weekly, regardless of vaccination status.
If the FDA approves the Pfizer vaccine for kids between 12 and 16, the mandate will then apply to those students as well, according to the district.
If there are medical exemptions, parents are asked to get in touch with the school's Health Services Department to apply.
