A Yorktown Republican leader has resigned after hurling racial slurs at a fellow town leader.
Yorktown Republican district leader Tom Pomposello was heard calling Councilman Vishnu Patel a term that includes the N-word.
"Look at President [Donald] Trump. It looks like he has given permission for people to say whatever they want, and they can get away," said Patel.
Pompesello tells News 12 over the phone that he was embarrassed for his family, his town and Councilman Patel.
Pomposello says he will apologize to Patel in person, calling what he did a "lack of judgement."
