Yorktown Heights residents flock to stores to prepare for Friday’s winter storm

Yorktown Heights residents made their way to local businesses to stock up on the snow essentials in anticipation of Friday’s storm.
The usual items like shovels, salt and sleds for the kids were on shopping lists. Some were thinking about their cars.
John Recchia, owner of the DAS Auto Parts and Battery store in Yorktown Heights, says his store is fully stocked with everything people will need.
“There is rock salt, and there is calcium,” says Recchia. “The calcium is safer for driveways.”
Customers have been purchasing ice scrapers, windshield wipers, de-icer sprays and more.
Mount Kisco resident Anthony Sinapi may not be worried, but he is preparing.
“I’ve got snowblowers,” says Sinapi. “I got three boys who can shovel.”
Yorktown Heights resident Luke Camaj was looking for headlights for his daughter’s car to make sure she can see when driving in the snow.
“There is never a better day than the day before because you know you always need things for the last second,” says Camaj.
