Yorktown is recognizing a woman of distinction. The director of St. Mary's Mohegan Lake's food pantry was awarded for her work fighting food-insecurity.         

Cindy Smith was honored with as a Woman of Distinction award for her work in the 94th Assembly District.          

The Community Food Pantry is grassroots, all-volunteer, interfaith service that has been in operation almost 40 years. The pantry distributes food on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.          

Pre-packed emergency bags are available Tuesday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
