Yorktown police: 18-year-old Yonkers man accused of stealing used cooking oil

Police responded just before 4 p.m. on April 27 to 1859 East Main St. for a report of a larceny in progress of used cooking oil.

Yorktown police have arrested an 18-year-old Yonkers man for allegedly stealing used cooking oil. 
Police responded just before 4 p.m. on April 27 to 1859 East Main St. for a report of a larceny in progress of used cooking oil. 
They say it was reported that a male had taken the used cooking oil and left the location in a white-colored van.  
While responding, an officer located a vehicle matching the description parked in the gas station located at 1770 East Main St. and identified the suspect.
After an investigation, it is alleged that the defendant had stolen a quantity of used cooking oil, was in possession of a pump and two large containers containing used cooking oil and had no front plate affixed to his vehicle.
The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for arrest processing.

The man was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, possession of burglar tools and no front license plate.
