Yorktown releases identity of Highway Department employee fatally struck by car

Town officials say 28-year-old Jake Arcara was working on a drainage project near 477 London Road when he was hit by a car.

Yorktown officials have released the name of the Highway Department employee who was struck and killed by a car on Wednesday.
Town officials say 28-year-old Jake Arcara was working on a drainage project near 477 London Road when he was hit.
He later died from his injuries.
He joined the department in November 2019 as a machine operator. Arcara was engaged to be married.
A memorial has been set up at the Yorktown Highway Department.
A wake is taking place on Monday from 2-4 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home with a funeral on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Yorktown.
