After years of smelling like what residents call a 'dead horse,' the 'Bronx Swamp' is finally getting drained.

On Monday, the city started cleaning out a one-mile stretch of abandoned railroad tracks near Concord and Saint Mary's streets that was flooded and littered with grime. The Department of Environmental Protection had the task of draining out about 150-thousand gallons of the muck.

Once the DEP drains the water, city officials say the Department of Sanitation will clean up the garbage. Then the DEP says it will have to figure out how to prevent future flooding.
