News 12 has learned of a second animal rescue in Orange County within a week. This time, at the residence of an alleged “illegal breeder” in Montgomery.
Hudson Valley SPCA officials say 12 dogs, mostly Boston terriers, were seized Tuesday during the execution of a search warrant for suspected animal mistreatment at a home on Ridge Road.
Inside, authorities say they found deplorable, feces-covered conditions.
The person who allegedly owns the dogs, 76-year-old Jurij Oracz, was arrested by Montgomery police for obstruction after interfering with the rescue effort, officials say.
The dogs were unlicensed, according to the SPCA, and “covered in fleas.”
Authorities tell News 12 they rescued other dogs from the home two years ago under similar circumstances.
