Fifteen people were injured Thursday in a Wappingers Falls home explosion, including three who were brought to Westchester Medical Center.
It's not clear how many, but some of them are in critical condition with what seem to be burn wounds, according to Wappingers Falls police.
One child and two adults were brought to the medical center in two Medivac helicopters.
Westchester Medical Center is a Level 1 trauma center, so that's why some of the most severely injured people are brought there.
All others went to other hospitals, including Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall.
Officials say 10 victims who were injured, including one utility worker. Five first responders were also hurt, including one firefighter and four police officers.
"First responding units were from the police department. They found a structure fire with multiple victims. They assisted in removing those victims. We brought them to a triage area where they awaited ambulance arrival," Paul Italiano, commissioner of the Wappingers Falls Police Department said.
The first responders had minor injuries from smoke inhalation.
