Asbury Park and Seaside Park have closed down their boardwalks, joining a growing number of municipalities that have taken similar actions amid the coronavirus pandemic in New Jersey.

In Asbury Park, the beach is still open, but people will not be able to walk on the boardwalk. It’s the latest move from the city as it tries to enforce social distancing and prevent crowds.

The city says you can access the beach from three areas -- First, Third and Sunset avenues.

 

City officials plan on reopening the boardwalk as soon as they can.

In Seaside Park, the OEM has closed the boardwalk to the public to try and limit exposure to others.

Similar to Asbury Park, the beach remains open to the public.
