2 teens accused in fatal 2024 Huntington Station stabbing

Detectives say 19-year-old Gerson Mendoza-Rodriguez, of Hicksville, and a 17-year-old from Huntington Station are now charged with manslaughter and gang assault.

Suffolk County police say they arrested two teens in the stabbing of a 29-year-old man in Huntington Station back in October 2024.

Justin Alfaro-Avila was stabbed to death during a party on Lowndes Avenue around 2 a.m. on Oct. 27, 2024.

Detectives say 19-year-old Gerson Mendoza-Rodriguez, of Hicksville, and a 17-year-old from Huntington Station are now charged with manslaughter and gang assault.

The name of the 17-year-old suspect is being withheld because of his age.

A 39-year-old man was also stabbed during the incident, and released from the hospital.

Mendoza-Rodriguez will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.

The 17-year-old, who detectives say was 15 at the time of the incident, will be arraigned at the Youth Part of First District Court in Central Islip.
