County Legislator Vedat Gashi has won the vote of the Democratic caucus to become the next chair of the Westchester County Board of Legislatures, according to News 12 sources.

Gashi will formally take over the role at the next meeting on Monday. He will replace scandalized former Chairwoman Catherine Borgia.

Democrats hold 15 of the board's 17 seats. Gashi currently serves District 4 on the Westchester County Board of Legislators.

Nancy Barr has been the acting chair since former Borgia resigned on April 28. Borgia resigned amid allegations she mishandled claims that an ex-aide tried to solicit sex from a teen girl.
