Father arrested in death of 1-year-old Spring Valley girl found in family's car
Village police say that the child’s father, a 21-year-old Spring Valley resident, was arrested on May 18 and charged with criminally negligent homicide.

An arrest was made in the death of a 1-year-old Spring Valley girl.
As News 12 previously reported, the child had been found dead on Ridge Avenue in the family’s car on May 9. She had been left in the family vehicle unattended for several hours.
Village police say that the child’s father, a 21-year-old Spring Valley resident, was arrested on May 18 and charged with criminally negligent homicide.
He was arraigned in Spring Valley Justice Court.
Police said the incident should serve as a reminder for all parents to always check the back seat of their vehicle before exiting, as temperatures within a closed vehicle can far exceed the outside air temperature.
