State officials have announced a significant allocation of $100 million in funding for road repair across the state.
The initiative targets roads impacted by extreme weather conditions, particularly focusing on repaving projects at 66 locations spanning 568 miles of pavement.
This funding will specifically support state roads, with a portion designated for the Mid-Hudson region, including Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, and Sullivan counties, totaling $17.4 million. The identified roadways set for repaving in these areas will be publicly available for reference.
Among the regions benefitting from this funding, the Southern Tier area, encompassing upstate New York, specifically Delaware and Broom counties, will receive $19.5 million, the largest allocation beyond the Hudson Valley area.
State officials have outlined that the commencement of repaving projects, including those in our region, is scheduled to begin in the spring.
