A crash on Route 311 in Putnam County Wednesday left one man dead and two other people hospitalized.
The incident occurred near Caroline Drive in Paterson. Police say 35-year-old Ayesha Smith tried to veer away from a speeding car that was about to hit her head-on.
The driver, 24-year-old Rashan Hall, hit Smith’s car and then ran into a tree.
Authorities say Hall was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger and Smith were taken to a hospital for treatment.
