Fire departments from throughout the Hudson Valley are doing their part to help on the ground in Greenwood Lake by either sending firefighters and/or equipment.

According to Rockland County officials, fire departments from that county are bolstering efforts include Blauvelt, Central Nyack, Hillburn, Hillcrest, Nanuet, New City, Nyack, Orangeburg, Pearl River, Piermont, Sloatsburg, Sparkill, Spring Valley, Stony Point, Suffern, Tallman, West Haverstraw and deputy fire coordinators.

News 12 has been told that crews from Monsey and West Nyack are expected to be in the area on Wednesday.

News 12 spoke with the New City Fire Chief John Pawelczyk on Tuesday.

"We're happy to help them out," said Chief Pawelczyk. On Sunday, a New City fire crew watched over a log cabin to make sure it was safe from the wildfire and the preventative burns done to contain the blaze from reaching the home.

The cabin is OK and some of their members were back in Greenwood Lake on Tuesday.

"The brotherhood of firefighters has always been there, regardless of which department you're from," says Chief Pawelczyk.

Dutchess County officials tell News 12 that fire departments that have helped include East Fishkill, Chelsea and Rhinebeck.

Putnam County officials tell News 12 that fire departments from their county that have helped are Carmel and Patterson.

Westchester County officials tell News 12 that fire departments from their county that have helped are Bedford Hills, Katonah, Somers, Buchanan and Goldens Bridge.
