Many residents in the Yorktown area woke up without water Wednesday morning due to multiple water main breaks.

The Yorktown Water Department has been busy repairing two breaks in the area.

The first and larger break occurred on Strawberry Road in Mohegan Lake, closing down the road between Route 6 and Briarhill Street, and affecting about 30 to 40 homes. The water was turned back on around 9:45 a.m.

A second break happened in Yorktown Heights, in the area of Mill Pond Road and Bound Brook Lane, and was repaired quickly..

Although there's no boil water advisory, residents in the affected neighborhoods are advised to run their faucets until the water is clear if they experience any discoloration.
