Yonkers man accused of running over Maryland sheriff’s deputy with rental truck

A Yonkers man is facing charges for allegedly running over a Maryland sheriff’s deputy with a rental truck.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office says 21-year-old Juan Yahir Quiroz Manzueta led police on a dangerous chase in Maryland.

Officials say Quiroz Manzueta struck Lt. Rob Burgess as the lieutenant was trying to deploy stop sticks. Burgess was critically injured.

Quiroz Manzueta was able to elude police during the incident. He was arrested in New Rochelle on Wednesday.

Quiroz Manzueta faces several charges, including attempted murder.
