A New Windsor man is behind bars after being found guilty in a Newburgh rape case.

Ernst Gilles, 24, was convicted of rape and unlawful imprisonment following a jury trial.

He was immediately sent to county jail without bail, prosecutors said.

Sentencing is scheduled for January.
