An Elmont man wanted on an open warrant out of Georgia was arrested at his home Tuesday, Nassau County police say after investigators tied him to multiple crimes spanning about two years.
Police allege Jerald Lowe, 31, punched a woman during a verbal dispute on June 14, 2024, leaving her bruised.
Then in May 2025, Lowe was allegedly speeding in an unregistered and uninsured Toyota when he ran a stop sign and slammed into a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The impact sent the Toyota onto a sidewalk, striking a then 58-year-old woman from behind and leaving her with a spinal fracture.
Authorities say Lowe gathered belongings from the car and fled the scene without calling police.
During the investigation, police discovered Lowe had the warrant out of Georgia on charges, including firearm possession, obstruction of law enforcement, and reckless conduct.
Lowe now faces multiple charges locally, including two counts of assault, criminal mischief, leaving the scene of an accident involving serious injury and aggravated unlicensed operation.
