A suspect is on the run as police continue to investigate a homicide in Stratford.

Police say on Saturday night at 11:48 p.m., they were called to the 400 block of Woodstock Avenue.

“Next thing I know, this place is lit up like an airport,” said Charles Lupo, who lives on Woodstock Avenue.

People who live on Woodstock Avenue in Stratford are stunned by a murder in their quiet neighborhood.

“The only problems we ever have are people running that stop sign at the end of the street,” said Lupo.

Neighbors say they heard nearly a dozen gunshots Saturday night.

Neighbors say the suspect appeared thin and tall, wearing a hat and long sleeves.

They say it appeared the suspect had access to the home and left in an SUV in a matter of minutes.

Police say there is no threat to the public as they continue to investigate the details of this case.

“It was just a domestic disturbance gone sour,” said Lupo.

Neighbors say it appears there was a history of family turmoil.

They say the victim, a man in his 40s named Paul, was a great neighbor.

“It’s kind of a shame because he was a really nice guy,” said Lupo.

Neighbors say they have surveillance video of the incident, but police ask that we not use it until an arrest is made.

Police say they expect more details later today after the autopsy.
