A man fatally shot his estranged wife Monday morning at a rehabilitation facility in Egg Harbor Township before turning the gun on himself, authorities said.

Police responded to a reported shooting around 6 a.m. at the Excelcare Rehabilitation Facility on Delilah Road, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office and Egg Harbor Township police.

Investigators said Brandon Alexander, 35, of Minotola, waited in the parking lot for Victoria Alexander, 38, also of Minotola, to arrive for work. Victoria Alexander was employed at the facility as a nurse.

Authorities said Brandon Alexander blocked her vehicle, got inside, and left two suicide notes on the dashboard. After a food delivery driver asked him to move his car, Victoria Alexander ran from her vehicle into the building, investigators said. Brandon Alexander followed her inside and shot her several times before shooting himself.

Victoria Alexander was pronounced dead at the scene. Brandon Alexander was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division, where he later died of his self-inflicted injuries, authorities said.
