Police say a 6-month-old baby girl was abandoned in Times Square late Tuesday night.
It began with a 911 call for a possible crime on West 44th Street and Broadway just after 11 p.m. Police say officers who responded found the baby in a stroller, conscious and alert. EMS took her to Northwell Greenwich Village Hospital and she is expected to be OK.
There is no word on an arrest but police sources say they are looking for the baby's father.
Parents who are unable or unwilling to care for a child over 30 days old may contact the Administration for Children's Services (ACS) to discuss options of transferring custody or giving up parental rights.
