A 10-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a car in Williamsburg on Friday afternoon.
Police say they got a 911 call before 1:15 p.m. for a child who was hit while walking. It happened on Division and Lee avenues.
Police say the boy was taken to Bellevue Hospital with minor injuries. They also say the driver stayed on the scene.
The crash happened in a school zone, steps away from a park and preschool. Residents like Lillian Ilarraza say that with no crosswalk, it's a safety concern.
"It could have been worse because sometimes the cars that come through here speed. And it's dangerous because the kids just cross like it's nothing and they can't see of a car is coming from that side, they can see from this side, but they can't see from the opposite side," said Ilarraza.
Police say the boy is expected to be OK.
