A tragic crash on Starrow Drive Thursday evening injured three children and sent them to area hospitals, according to an official source with knowledge of the investigation.

According to the source, the children were struck by a vehicle shortly before 7 p.m.

The source said two of the children were transported to Westchester Medical Center with serious injuries. A third child was taken to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital with injuries believed to be less severe.

Police were at the scene for several hours Thursday night examining a blue Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Investigators were seen taking measurements, photographing the area and documenting evidence.

Debris could be seen scattered near the vehicle, with bicycles visible nearby.

Starrow Drive, a residential street off Route 300, was closed for several hours as the investigation continued.
