Roadwork that was expected to shut down a stretch of Route 9W in Rockland County will not happen today, according to the State DOT.

A three-mile section through Orangetown had been scheduled to close in both directions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The closure was set to run from the intersection of Route 9W and Hickey Street in Piermont to Shadyside Avenue in Upper Grandview.

Officials have not provided a reason for the delay and no new date has been set. The work is part of planned maintenance along the state-owned roadway.
