Spring Valley police have released additional information about a stabbing investigation stemming from a large fight that broke out shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday near Jay Street and Division Avenue.
Police said a group of people attacked two men during the incident and stabbed them.
News 12 spotted caution tape, gloves and bloody gauze pads in the area Monday afternoon.
According to police, one of the victims required a tourniquet to stop the bleeding.
Both victims are expected to recover.
Mike, a Spring Valley resident who lives in the area, said he has not heard of a stabbing in the neighborhood during the more than 15 years he has lived there.

"You would normally see this near stores and other areas, but here, in this neighborhood, it's so rare to see," Mike said.
Spring Valley police say 18-year-old Diego Huerta, of South Spring Valley, was arrested. Investigators allege that Huerta and "several other unknown suspects" struck one of the victims in the head with a glass bottle before stabbing him with a sharp weapon.
Police said the attack occurred in front of the victim's three children and other relatives.
Huerta was charged with assault in the first degree, gang assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
He was remanded to Rockland County Jail.
According to investigators, the victims and suspects do not appear to know each other.
Spring Valley police are encouraging anyone with information about the incident to contact the department.
