A detainee escaped from Bronx Lebanon Hospital on Friday afternoon, police say.
The 42-year-old man fled 1650 Grand Concourse at around 2:40 p.m. wearing a hospital gown and black sweatpants, according to the NYPD.
Citizen app footage captured the large-scale search launched by police, using ground patrol and helicopters.
Police say the man was originally arrested for petit larceny in the confines of the 40th Precinct.
Additional information about the alleged crime was not immediately available.
He remains on the run as of Friday evening.
