A Dutchess County man has pleaded guilty in connection with a deadly crash in Hyde Park last year.

Richard Rider entered a guilty plea to vehicular manslaughter.

As part of a plea agreement, Rider is expected to serve six to 12 years in prison when he is sentenced in November.

Prosecutors say Rider was under the influence of drugs when he crossed out of his lane on Albany Post Road in Hyde Park in December 2025.

The crash resulted in a fatality.

Additional details about the victim were not immediately released.
