News 12 New Jersey holds back-to-school celebration
A back-to-school giveaway at the Boys & Girls Club of Elizabeth brought together community organizations and local businesses to provide children with backpacks, school supplies, books and other resources.

Families in Elizabeth are receiving some extra help getting ready for the new school year.
A back-to-school giveaway at the Boys & Girls Club of Elizabeth brought together community organizations and local businesses to provide children with backpacks, school supplies, books and other resources.
The event was hosted by News 12 in partnership with Optimum and Warner Bros. Discovery.
Wellpoint also brought its mobile haircut truck and school supplies, while children had the opportunity to receive free dental screenings through Liberty Dental.
Organizers say the goal was to make sure students have what they need to start the school year feeling prepared and supported.
The Bridge of Books Foundation handed out books to help children continue building their literacy skills and develop a love of reading at home.
Staples, Stop & Shop, Goya, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, and the Elizabeth fire and police departments also participated in the event.
Families say the giveaway was a welcome way to ease some of the costs and stress that come with getting ready for a new school year.
