Farmingdale neighbors say street racing persists following multiple takeover arrests in July
As News 12 previously reported, Suffolk County police arrested nine people and impounded 12 cars in July following a street takeover on Central Avenue.

Farmingdale residents say they are living in fear as cars race through their neighborhood and drivers rev their engines late at night.
For Melissa Collins, who lives on Central Avenue, it has become a source of constant frustration.
"It literally sounds like I am in the middle of a war zone," she said. "It's terrifying. I am consistently on alert. It is extremely loud," Collins said.
Central Avenue was the scene of a street takeover in July. Police arrested nine people and impounded 12 cars following the incident.
Then, on Monday morning, Collins says she discovered an Instagram post that included her home address. She says the account claimed drivers would be paid to do donuts outside her home.
"I'm terrified to go to sleep. I'm afraid someone is going to come and be destructive on the property. I am worried they are going to escalate the behavior," Collins said.
Police say they are investigating the Instagram post.
Nearby businesses say they were unaware of the latest situation.
"The industrial area usually has more open streets, so I guess it makes it easier. It's a shame it has to be around businesses like this because it is really dangerous," said Nick Torres, of Top Notch Sheet Metal.
"I just want to go back to how it was before the situation, when I wasn't afraid," Collins said.
