2 hurt, dog killed in massive Chester house fire
Officials say crews had to tank in water because there are no hydrants in the area.

Two people were hurt and a homeowner’s dog was killed in a massive house fire in Chester Tuesday night.
The fire broke out around 8:30 p.m. at a large home on Rock Ridge Road.
Orange County emergency officials say the home was already engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
Fighting the fire was especially difficult because the home is located on a narrow, single-lane private road in an area without fire hydrants. Officials say water had to be tanked in to battle the flames.
A person inside the home was evaluated at the scene for smoke inhalation and released.
A firefighter suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, where officials say they were treated and released about two hours later.
The homeowner’s dog was killed in the fire.
Officials say the response reached the equivalent of a fourth alarm because of the size of the home, its remote location and the lack of hydrants.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
