A major water main break in Newark is continuing to impact residents, businesses and drivers as repair crews work to restore service.
The 36-inch water main ruptured near the intersection of South 6th Street and 11th Avenue Wednesday, sending water gushing into the air and flooding the area.
Video from the scene showed a massive gush of water erupting from the broken line. Crews responded and began repair efforts, but officials said work on a break of that size can take time.
Residents and businesses in the area may experience discolored water, low water pressure or a loss of water service while repairs continue.
Street closures also remain in place around the work zone.
Officials have not said when repairs will be completed.
