Fairfield artist and 2022 Ms. Connecticut Julia Isabel says she has shifted her focus from the crown to the canvas.
Isabel - who moved to the U.S. from Ukraine to attend Sacred Heart University (class of 2021) - is currently showcasing her solo exhibit, "The Image of the Sound," at The Rye Arts Center.
Isabel's latest collection explores the powerful intersection of classical music, physical movement and painting.
Isabel describes her creative process as "a transformative experience", sharing that she feels like she's "channeling divine energies" when she paints.
Due to its popularity, the exhibition has been extended through next Friday.
Additionally, 30% of sales benefit the Rye Arts Center's accessible arts programming, helping sustain arts education and community engagement for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, the artist says.
