A fire destroyed 27 summer bungalows in Sullivan County Wednesday and took hundreds of firefighters to extinguish.

The fire tore through two neighboring bungalow communities in Fallsburg, and only took minutes to spread.

Sullivan County authorities say it took 300 firefighters from 68 volunteer departments to knock down the blaze.

They say the fire was so intense that three firefighters were hurt in the process. One of the firefighters is still in the hospital, but expected to be OK.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. Authorities say an investigation in underway.
