Three people had to be rescued as fire engulfed a small home in the town of Montgomery this morning.

Fire officials say the three people were initially trapped inside when flames broke out at 7 a.m. at the house on a dead-end street that sits below I-84.

Two got out safely, but one man had to be taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Fire crews quickly put out the flames, but the house was destroyed.
