Dozens have been arrested in a massive welfare fraud sweep in Orange County.
The 36 suspects, mostly from Middletown and Newburgh, are accused of lying to get free welfare services. The suspects allegedly received $337,000 in Medicaid, public assistance, food stamps and day care.
Police say more sweeps in the county are to come. Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus also announced plans to create a welfare fraud task force.
