A statewide burn ban is now in effect through May 14.
Dry weather is increasing the risk for woodland fires.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer is now urging residents to take precautions to prevent them in our area.
Some steps you can take include:
  • Limit the size of campfires where permitted and make sure they are fully extinguished before leaving
  • Safely dispose of any charcoal or ashes
  • Fully put out cigarettes
  • If you see smoke in any park or wooded area - call 911 right away
