Six people were injured following a four-alarm fire at a duplex Saturday in Elizabeth.
It happened on Stiles Street around 9 a.m.
City officials say a witness saw smoke and called 911.
All six people suffered minor injuries, and no firefighters were injured.
The fire was extinguished around 12 p.m.
The Red Cross says they were providing emergency assistance to at least 12 people as of Saturday afternoon.
Video given to News 12 taken by a resident showed heavy fire and black smoke coming out of several windows on the top floor.
Neighbor Ana Merino told News 12 she saw people jumping from the windows to escape.
"All of the sudden, I heard screaming and when I looked through my window, I saw smoke and people jumping from windows, a lot of smoke from the second floor and a lot of screaming," Merino said.
A cause of the fire was not immediately known.
