There are six hospitals in the New York City area pushing
their capacity limit, according to the state Department of Health.
The hospitals are Long Island Jewish – Forest Hills, Queens Hospital Center, Long
Island Community Hospital, North Shore University Hospital, Southside Hospital
and White Plains Hospital.
Gov. Kathy Hochul says all of the hospitals are around the 10%
mark.
Under the executive order signed by Hochul, any hospital with 10%
capacity or less by tomorrow will need to shut down most elective
surgeries until Jan. 15.
White Plains Hospital released the following statement: “We currently meet capacity requirements and will not need to cancel any surgeries.“
