A woman who lives in a Rockland home for the emotionally disturbed is under arrest for allegedly setting her roommate's bed on fire during an argument.
Police say 60-year-old Janice Madill, who lives at the Monsey Park Home for Adults, allegedly set fire to her roommate's mattress with a lighter while the woman was in bed on Monday.
Madill faces a number of charges, including arson in the fifth degree.
No one was injured by the small blaze, and the fire was quickly extinguished.
Administrators wouldn't talk about this incident, but it is the second violent altercation between roommates at the home in the last three weeks.
At the end of August, 56-year-old Patrick Brady was arrested and charged with assault for allegedly beating his roommate in the head with a metal bar.
The victim suffered a broken jaw, broken eye socket, broken wrists and cuts to his ear.
