Two of our state's top female lawmakers honored women for their hard work during the pandemic.
State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and state Sen. Shelley Mayer held this year's Women's History Month celebration virtually.
They recognized exceptional women from our area who gave back to their communities during this very difficult year.
Seven women were honored, including Dara Gruenberg of Scarsdale, who helped raise $10 million for rapid response COVID-19 relief.
The seven women selected will be awarded New York State Senate proclamations.
Last year's nominees, who were unable to be honored, were also recognized in a special video tribute.
