Rockland Community College hosted a special musical tribute to a local woman and 31 other victims of the Virginia Tech massacre. The memorial service, which featured a combination of song and prayer, was attended by more than 100 people. Students and professors attended as a sign of solidarity with the Virginia Tech campus according to some who were there. Among the victims was 19-year-old Caitlin Hammaren of Westtown, a Virginia Tech sophomore. Hammaren was a graduate of Minisink Valley High School. RCC students who spoke with News 12 Hudson Valley expressed shock and concern over the killings. "It can happen anywhere,? said one student. ?You never know if someone decides to be impulsive about how they feel.?To view footage of the ceremony to honor the VA Tech victims, go to channel 612 on your iO digital cable box and click iO Extra.
