New York Attorney General Letitia James issued a consumer alert recently to warn people against common health insurance scams.
James says scams tend to spike during open insurance enrollment periods.
Some tips of what people should look out for are scammers might try to threaten you with fear - saying your coverage is at risk of cancellation.
They also might use false offers and ask for your personal information.
Scammers might also ask for money to enroll customers in marketplace or Obamacare insurance.
