A body was found inside a motel room overnight in Wallkill

A crime scene was established at the Middletown Motel on Route 211 around 11:30 p.m. Monday.

News 12 video shows detectives collecting evidence from room 54 in Building No. 4 at the back of the property.

Authorities say the death does not appear suspicious and the cause will be determined by an autopsy.

Authorities say a fire Friday at the Economy Inn in the Town of Wallkill is unrelated and does not appear suspicious. No injuries were reported in that incident.
