At almost every match of the men’s T20 Cricket World Cup at Eisenhower Park, thousands of people turned out.

While Friday’s match between Ireland and Canada isn’t bringing in the same numbers, the excitement is still high.

“It’s special because we feel connected. We feel there is something for us to enjoy. I mean, we enjoy baseball, and ya know, basketball, but cricket is like, we’re home, we’re here,” said Zalina Mursalin, of Queens.

All eyes are now on the long-awaited match between rivals, India and Pakistan, on Sunday, which will bring some of the best cricket players in the world to Long Island.

“The intensity is going to be so palpable,” said Reeshad Baksh, of Garden City.

Some fans told News 12 they are also looking forward to Wednesday’s game when India takes on the U.S.A.
